Celebs Busy on Sword Swallower's Day

Recent America's Got Talent competitors, Chris and Elaina "Maybelle" Steele, participated in Ripley's Believe It or Not World Sword Swallower's Day.

Recent America's Got Talent competitors, Chris and Elaina "Maybelle" Steele, of Douglasville, participated in Ripley's Believe It or Not World Sword Swallower's Day in St. Augustine, FL on Saturday.

It was World Sword Swallower's Day, where sword swallowers around the world traveled to Ripley's locations and participated in the "Big Drop." Chris accomplished a personal best of nine swords, measuring 24" each!Β 

Maybelle said, "We were happy to participate for the fourth year running, and are planning on returning to St. Augustine's Ripley's over the 4th of July holiday."Β 

Chris' and Maybelle's next local show is March 10 at The Five Spot, and will be performing with another traveling sideshow as they pass through Atlanta.

The couple will then head up to Boone, NC, on St. Patty's Day to participate in Tattoos for Schools, sponsored by Speakeasy Tattoo Studio, to raise money for local school's art departments. Last year's event raised just more than $5,000.

Finishing out March, the couple will be at on March 31, where they're asking attendees for a donation of art supplies to gain entry for an evening of entertainment. These supplies will be donated to Bright Star Elementary's Art Department.

"Our January Food Drive at Psycho raised more than 500 non-perishable items that were donated to The Pantry by ," Maybelle said.
