By Sara Ray, Douglas County Chamber The Young Professionals Connection of Douglas County is hosting the Second Annual Cornhole Tournament on Sunday, April 28 at Foxhall Resort and Sporting Club. Proceeds from the Cornhole Tournament benefit annual Leadership Scholarships that are presented to local high school seniors who demonstrate outstanding leadership and community service potential. The YPC Cornhole Tournament is open to teams of all ages. The double elimination Cornhole Tournament will begin at 1 p.m., with registration beginning at 11 a.m. (pre-registration is required and payment must be received by Monday, April 22). Proceeds from the Cornhole Tournament benefit annual Leadership Scholarships that are presented to local high school seniors who demonstrate outstanding leadership and community service potential. The Cornhole Tournament is open to teams of all ages. The double elimination Cornhole Tournament will begin at 11 a.m., with registration beginning at 10 a.m. (pre-registration is required and payment must be received by Wednesday, June 20). Members of the Douglas County Board of Commissioners, Douglasville City Council and Douglas County School Board met with the Chamber's Young Professionals Connection for breakfast and answered their questions.
Local leaders were invited to the Politics Power Breakfast, held Wednesday by the Douglas County Chamber's Young Professionals Connection (YPC). Those who attended included County Commissioners Mike Mulcare, Kelly Robinson, Ann Jones-Guider, Henry Mitchell III; City Councilmen Sam Davis and Carl Pope; Tax Commissioner Todd Cowan and School Board Members Janet Kelley and Mike Miller.
