Chamber Diplomats, Board Members and Young Professionals went door-to-door visiting more than 600 member businesses. This is a coordinated effort by the Chamber to demonstrate appreciation for its member businesses. Hooters of Douglasville will be closing on Oct. 24 and offering a farewell party for customers and a reunion for Hooters of Douglasville alumni.
After 15 years of serving Douglasville, the Hooters restaurant on Concourse Parkway is permanently closing on Oct. 24. But don't be sad, the restaurant is throwing a farewell party for its own wake. Hooters is inviting customers and a having reunion for Hooters of Douglasville alumni on Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. The area near the restaurant will be closed off and servers at the restaurant said there will be a band. Alexis Aleshire, director of Public Relations and Social Media said in an email that the lease on the property has expired and the location will officially be closed on Oct. 25. This program will allow members of the business community to visit one of the 35 schools in Douglas County and shadow the principal for a half day. Specialty home décor and gifts retailer Kirkland’s will celebrate the grand opening of its new store at Douglasville Pavilion Shopping Center in Douglasville on Oct. 13 and 14. For those that can't wait that long, the store's doors opened to the general public today. The retailer closed its Arbor Place Mall store in August to expand to the new location. Local interior designer Shellene Frett will showcase Kirkland’s items and provide design tips for customers from 1 to 4 p.m. both days.
