Legislative Session Town Hall Meeting Tonight

State Senator Donzella James (District 35) and State Representative Roger Bruce (District 61) are scheduled to address hot topics in this year’s legislative session.

County District 2 Commissioner Kelly Robinson has scheduled a Legislative Session Town Hall Meeting for tonight in Citizen’s Hall of the Douglas County Courthouse, according to a press release from the County. The public is invited to get first-hand information on issues facing the Douglas County legislative delegation to the Georgia General Assembly.  Robinson has invited Georgia State Senator Donzella James (District 35) and Georgia State Representative Roger Bruce (District 61) to address the public on hot topics in this year’s legislative session. Rep. Roger Bruce Elected Chairman, First Formal Douglas County Delegation

Rep. Roger Bruce represents House District 61 and was first elected into the Georgia House of Representatives in 2002.

Members of the first formal Douglas County Delegation have elected Representative Roger Bruce as their chairman. The delegation members are Rep. Roger Bruce (D), Rep. LaDawn Jones (D), Rep. Sharon Beasley-Teague (D), Rep. Kim Alexander (D), Rep. Michael Micah Gravely (R), Rep. Dustin Hightower (R), and Sen. Donzella James (D). Rep. Bruce represents House District 61 and was first elected into the Georgia House of Representatives in 2002. In his role as State Representative, he has served on several committees including the Insurance, Education, and Judiciary committees. State of the Union Viewing Party

Douglas County Rep. Roger Bruce is scheduled to attend and moderate the viewing. The event is free and open to the public.

Representative Roger Bruce, who represents part of Douglas and part of Fulton Counties will hold a special viewing party of tonight's State of the Union address at J.R. Crickets, 5819 Campbellton Rd. SW Atlanta from 8:15 to 10:00 p.m. President Barack Obama will present his annual State of the Union address to Congress and the nation tonight at 9 p.m. The traditional evening speech will report on the condition of the nation and will allow the president to outline his legislative agenda and national priorities to Congress. “President Barack Obama is working hard to tackle the nation’s challenges,” said Rep.
