Field Set in Senate District 30 Race

Five men are vying to become the next state senator for District 30, covering part of Douglas County.

District 30 includes a southern portion of Paulding County, most of Carroll County and a western portion of Douglas County. Gravley Tapped as House District 67 Candidate

Redistricting amended the legislative boundary of the 67th district to include a southeastern portion of Paulding. Representing the district was Republican Bill Hembree of Winston. But Hembree is now set to seek the Senate District 30 seat vacated by Bill Hamrick following the latter’s appointment as superior court judge on the Coweta Judicial Circuit. Hembree’s departure left a vacancy for Republicans to fill in the race for the House District 67 seat, which is also being pursued by Leigh Mcmutry, a Democrat from Winston; Hembree and Mcmutry were unopposed …
