Kentucky Derby Kick Networking Event Set

The Douglas County "Keep Calm and Shop Local" campaign continues with a "Kentucky Derby Kick" networking event on April 30 at the Old Courthouse Museum.

The Kentucky Derby is the crown jewel of horse racing, and it generates excitement and energy.  That’s what networking is all about, too, so the “Keep Calm and Shop Local” campaign continues with a “Kentucky Derby Kick” networking event with a purpose!  Douglas County businesses are invited to enjoy horses, hats and hellos on Tuesday, April 30, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Old Courthouse Museum in downtown Douglasville. This free and open admission event is designed to encourage one-on-one networking between business people with the purpose of supporting each other’s products and services. Shop locally? Why? People come into Douglas County from other counties to shop, so we are told when it's time for a SPLOST vote. We are told that all those out-of-county shoppers pay the lion's share of the SPLOST, whether the school or county SPLOST. 'Keep Calm and Shop Local' Campaign to Kick Off with Networking Event

Celebrate Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras with a purpose and the kick off of the "Keep Calm and Shop Local" campaign on Feb. 12, from 5 to 6 p.m.

Fat Tuesday is for celebrating and what better way to celebrate than with a Mardi Gras event with a purpose! Douglas County businesses are invited to enjoy King Cake and Mardi Gras atmosphere at the kick-off of the “Keep Calm and Shop Local” campaign on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 5 to 6 p.m., in the Courthouse Gallery, Douglas County Courthouse. This free admission event is designed to encourage one-on-one networking between business people with the purpose of supporting each other’s products and services. Shopping locally is essential to the health and welfare of Douglas County businesses.
