Tommie Lee Lewis of Douglasville, passed away Wednesday, May 1. He was born Sept. 8, 1948 in Sardis, Mississippi, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lewis, and was raised in Oxford, MI. He joined Tobby Tubby Mb Church at an early age where he remained faithful until he moved to Detroit. He was employed by Hayball Trucking Company for more than 20 years. He owned Tommie Lewis Trucking for 13 years. He retired in 2011 and moved to Douglasville. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. & Mrs. Tom C. Lewis and sister, Mrs. Vera McEwen. Richard Lee Mathis, 63 of Douglasville, passed away, Feb. 19. He was born in Atlanta, May 19, 1949 to the late Nonnie J. Mathis and Barbara Summers Mathis. He worked for Charles S. Martin, a warehouse company. In addition to his parents, Nonnie J. Mathis and Barbara Summers Mathis, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David Mathis and Jimmy Mathis. Survivors are his wife, Cathy Turner Mathis of Douglasville; son: George L. Mary Pauline Stephens Johnson, lovingly known as "Aunt Polly", 92 of Villa Rica, passed away Jan. 10, 2013. She was born July 31, 1920 in Jacksonville, AL., to the late Paul E. Stephens and Sarah Elizabeth Tolbert Stephens. During her career, she worked as a caregiver in Homecare and was a member of the Tabernacle of Faith Church. In addition to her parents, Paul E. Stephens and Sarah Elizabeth Tolbert Stephens, she was also preceded in death by her brothers: J.A. Stephens and Paul Stephens and sister: Mozelle Stephens. Ronald Kennie Camp, born, Jan. 23, 1945, died peacefully at home on Oct. 29. As a lifelong resident of the Fairplay Community in Douglas County, he is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Margaret Ann Daniell Camp, married June 1, 1963. Ronald and Ann grew up in the Douglas County School System and went together consistently and exclusively from the second grade through graduation. Their love of each other and family is inspirational to all who know them. Ronald worked for the Ford Motor Company in Hapeville for 40 years and retired eight years ago. Remona Gail Weider, 64 of Winston, passed away Saturday, Oct. 6. She was born in Douglas County on Oct. 3, 1948 to the late Raymond Morris and the late Martha Stamps Morris. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Union Grove Christian Church. She is survived by her husband, Edward M. Weider; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Melissa Weider of Raleigh, North Carolina; son, Matthew Weider of Winston; daughter, Gina Guy of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Andrew Weider, William Weider, Lauren Weider, Austin Cooper, and Meadow Guy.
