Douglasville's Aldi grocery store on Chapel Hill Rd. is temporarily closed after a possible electrical fire, according to a report in the Douglas County Sentinel. Employees were posted outside telling customers the store would be closed today and weren't sure when the store would reopen, the newspaper is reporting. Fire Destroys Golf Course Clubhouse

The Frog clubhouse of the Georgian in Villa Rica was a total loss, according to fire department personnel.

A Villa Rica golf course’s clubhouse was destroyed by fire Tuesday night, with a cause of the blaze undetermined as of Wednesday. The Frog clubhouse of the Georgian in Villa Rica caught fire sometime Tuesday night. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution quoted a man who resided in the area who said his wife spotted the fire shortly after 8 p.m., while WSB-TV reported that the fire broke out about 9 p.m. MaryAnn Phipps, coordinator and public information officer for Paulding County Fire/Rescue and Emergency Management Agency, told Dallas-Hiram Patch about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday that no residents or fire personnel were injured as a result of the blaze, adding that no one was in the building when the fire started. Authorities: Stay Away From Mill

The fire at the Cotton Mill in Douglasville continues to be very unsafe and volatile.

The fire at the General Western Cotton Mill in Douglasville continues to burn, mostly underneath the rubble and debris. However, open flames periodically break through to the surface. The site continues to be very unsafe and volatile. The volume of smoke has diminished but is still billowing northward from the site. Bankhead Highway/US Highway 78 adjacent to the Mill site is open, and the smoke is no longer a traffic hazard. The side streets-Hagin Street and Courtland Street-adjacent to the Mill site continue to be closed. These are the access points for the Douglas County Fire/EMS Department which continues to monitor the site.
