On election day, all voters must vote at their assigned polling place and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
As of Friday, 33, 830 early votes have been cast, meaning 45 percent of active Douglas County voters have already voted, according to Laurie Fulton, Douglas County elections supervisor. Many more mail-in ballots still needed to be counted. As of Oct. 27, there had been 12, 271 Douglas County votes cast. On election day, all voters must vote at their assigned polling place and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (A sample ballot is attached.) Many City of Douglasville residents must ask pollsters for an additional ballot to vote in the special election for Sunday alcohol sales. Pollsters will not ask if you would like the extra ballot. Douglas County residents have until 5 p.m. today to vote in person ahead of election-day voting on Nov. 6.
Douglas County’s five locations offering advance voting will opened at 8 this morning, giving voters seven hours to cast ballots ahead of Tuesday’s election day. The City of Douglasville special election ballot can only be voted at the Douglas County Courthouse - and it is in a separate room from the county voting. Look for the signs. As of Saturday, 1,957 citizens have voted in-person at one of the five Douglas County early voting locations, according to Laurie Fulton, Douglas County elections supervisor. In addition to the Douglas County Courthouse, residents can take advantage of early voting at one of the following locations: the Old Courthouse, Boundary Waters Aquatic Center; Deer Lick Park; and the Dog River Library. Early voting will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at all locations, until Friday. During early voting, any voter may vote at any location.
