One More Day of Irish Celebrations on O'Neal Plaza

Celtic rock and punk will be featured today in Downtown Douglasville during the annual St. Patrick’s Day, held on both O’Neal Plaza and within the Irish Bred Pub.

Irish celebration returns to downtown Douglasville today with the St. Patrick’s  Celebration held on both O’Neal Plaza and within the Irish Bred Pub. The Plaza will be gated off between Broad Street and Church Street and visitors will be allowed to enjoy food and beverages within this much wider area. Scottish Bagpipers, Irish Dance Featured Today on O'Neal Plaza

Scottish Bagpipers and Irish Dance will be featured today in Downtown Douglasville during the annual St. Patrick’s Day, held on both O’Neal Plaza and within the Irish Bred Pub.

Irish Bred Pub's 3-Day St. Patrick’s Day Party Launches Tonight

The Downtown Douglasville St. Patrick’s Day Three-Day Celebration starts tonight and runs through Sunday, March 17. All three days will be held on both O’Neal Plaza and within the Irish Bred Pub.

It all started out as a one day event. Within a few years it has now become a three-day festival unlike anything else on Douglasville’s event calendar. Yep, Celtic mania returns to downtown with the St. Patrick’s Three-Day Celebration, starting tonight through Sunday, March 17. All three days will be held on both O’Neal Plaza and within the Irish Bred Pub. The Plaza will be gated off between Broad Street and Church Street on March 16 and 17 and visitors will be allowed to enjoy food and beverages within this much wider area. Man Injured in Downtown Train Crash

One man was injured and taken to Atlanta Medical after apparently attempting to drive around the warning signal cross bar and over the train tracks in downtown Douglasville this morning.

One man was injured and taken to Atlanta Medical after apparently attempting to drive around the warning signal cross bar and over the train tracks in downtown Douglasville this morning, according to Capt. D. Shaw, Douglasville Police Department. The man had no visible injuries but was complaining about his left leg, Shaw said. The train appeared to be undamaged. With the railroad crossing bar sticking out of the man's truck and a deep gouge in the street, the preliminary investigation indicates he attempted to drive on the wrong side of the road to avoid the cross bar got his truck caught. Investigating Officer Justin Pollard and Shaw agreed. After the train stuck the truck, "The man got out of the truck and was walking and talking," Shaw…

Parking Deck Ribbon Cutting Set, Will Open Soon

The downtown Douglasville parking deck ribbon cutting ceremony is set for Oct. 1 and the City's goal is to open the lot for parking on the same day.

On Monday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. the City of Douglasville invites the public to take part in a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of the new downtown parking deck. The City's goal is to open for parking on the same day. The parking deck is conveniently located next to the new conference center in the heart of downtown and will offer free parking. As a reminder, if you have yet to R.S.V.P. for the parking deck ribbon cutting please do so by Friday, Sept. 21 to Regina Chapman at 678-715-2030. In August the City's Elected Officials made the decision to operate both the new conference center and the existing Downtown Conference Center as one campus, according to a press release by the City. 'Springtime Fun' Starts May 5 Downtown

The competition is limited to 20 performances and the deadline to register is April 20.

Several fun and exciting events are underway as the City of Douglasville prepares for "Springtime Fun in Douglasville" Saturday, May 5. There will be lots to see and do in downtown with events that range from a community market, talent competition, interior décor showcase and concert. Festivities will kick off with the Main Street Spring Market from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. as local vendors selling art, crafts and antiques fill O'Neal Plaza. Booth spaces may be reserved for $50 each by calling 678-715-6092. During the market, local talent will take the plaza stage from 1 to 3 p.m. to compete in the Fourth Annual Douglasville's Got Talent competition.
