YPC to Host Cornhole Tourney

The Young Professionals Connection of Douglas County is hosting the Second Annual Cornhole Tournament on Sunday, April 28 at Foxhall Resort and Sporting Club.

By Sara Ray, Douglas County Chamber The Young Professionals Connection of Douglas County is hosting the Second Annual Cornhole Tournament on Sunday, April 28 at Foxhall Resort and Sporting Club. Proceeds from the Cornhole Tournament benefit annual Leadership Scholarships that are presented to local high school seniors who demonstrate outstanding leadership and community service potential. The YPC Cornhole Tournament is open to teams of all ages. The double elimination Cornhole Tournament will begin at 1 p.m., with registration beginning at 11 a.m. (pre-registration is required and payment must be received by Monday, April 22). DC Chamber Accepting Youth Leadership Douglas Applications

The Douglas County Chamber is announcing that applications for the 2013-2014 Youth Leadership Douglas program are now available.

By Sara Ray, Douglas County Chamber The goals of Youth Leadership Douglas are to provide opportunities for participants to develop an understanding of the meaning and responsibilities of personal, organizational and community leadership and to produce ethical leaders committed to active community involvement. This program is a partnership between the Chamber and the Douglas County School System. Leadership is more than just raw talent and determination. While a portion of great leadership is aptitude, a great deal of what it takes to be a leader is skill based and can be learned.
