The three Douglas County GOP candidates for Georgia House District 66 respond to the Supreme Court's decision on the Affordable Care Act. The Supreme Court decided to uphold the individual insurance mandate as a tax, holding that Obamacare is constitutional. Georgia was one of 28 states to challenge the constitutionality of the law. Candidate Mike Miller's statement: I find the decision today by the Supreme Court regarding Obamacare to be very disappointing, said Miller. Today, the highest court in the country has jeopardized the economic and personal freedoms that Georgians hold so dear by upholding the individual mandate and granting unlimited power to the federal government. The three GOP State House District 66 candidates, all from Douglas County, met Monday night at a candidate forum and introduced themselves.

The three GOP State House District 66 candidates, all from Douglas County, met Monday night at a candidate forum and introduced themselves. Mike Miller is a current Douglas County School Board member; Bob Snelling formerly served in the Georgia House of Representatives, 1995 to 2003; and Mickey Thompson served as Douglasville mayor for 12 years and as a city councilman for four. The Republican primary is July 31. The winner of the primary will face Democrat Kimberly Alexander in the Nov. 6 election. The new Georgia House District 66 will cover Douglas County and part of Paulding County.
