Police: Person of Interest Sought for Lee Rd. Area Burglaries

The Douglas County Sheriff's Department's Investigation Division is trying to identify this person in reference to burglaries that have occurred in and around the "Meadows" off of Lee Rd.

Man Gets 15 Years for Burglaries

A 25-year-old Carroll County man who stole more than $14,000 worth of items from several homes in the Winston area last spring received a 30-year sentence on Monday.

A 25-year-old Carroll County man who stole more than $14,000 worth of items from several homes in the Winston area last spring received a 30-year sentence on Monday, according to Douglas County District Attorney David McDade. Christopher Charles Butler will serve the first 15 years of his sentence in prison. Superior Court Judge David T. Emerson accepted the State’s recommendation after Butler entered a guilty plea to three counts of Burglary and two counts of Attempted Burglary. The ruling also requires the defendant to pay $14,433.17 in restitution. Butler’s codefendant, Robert McIntire II, 24, received a 20-year sentence on similar charges in February. McIntire is required to serve the first nine years of his term in custody and pay …

Burglary Suspects Still Wanted

The Douglasville Police Department is still looking for suspects involved in two separate burglaries last month; one was at the Zales at Arbor Place Mall and the other at the Harley Davidson Shop on Thornton Rd.

A snatch theft occurred at Zales Arbor Place Mall, according to the Douglasville Police Department's Facebook page. If anyone recognizes the suspect in the first attached photo or has any information that may lead to the identification of the suspect please contact DVPD Det. Sims. DashCam Catches Police Chase, Rollover; 2 Suspects Flee on Foot

Officers of the Douglasville Police Department arrested two suspected burglars Tuesday night and two fled on foot after the suspects' car rolled over.

The Douglasville Police Department is searching for two suspects that fled on foot after a high-speed chase on Interstate 20 that led to a rollover Tuesday night. Two of the four suspects in the vehicle were arrested, according to the DPD's Facebook page. The men are suspected of participating in two Douglasville burglaries that occurred overnight. One was at Douglasville Package on Douglas Blvd. and is believed to have been committed by the same suspects that hit 5 & 20 Package the night before. The second burglary was hours later, according to the report, at Sound Proof on Douglas Blvd. Officers spotted the vehicle suspected of being used in the Sound Proof burglary and the suspects sped away when officers attempted to stop them.
