A Fayetteville husband and wife will be serving a 20-year sentence after robbing numerous businesses at gun point around the metro Atlanta area, including a local business in 2007, according to Douglas County District Attorney David McDade. Preston Marcelus Calhoun, 42, and his wife, Roslynn Ford-Calhoun, 42, were sentenced Monday by Chief Superior Court Judge Robert J. James after entering a guilty plea to one count each of Armed Robbery. Calhoun will serve 20 years in prison while his counterpart, Ford-Calhoun, will spend 15 of the 20 years in confinement. Both are required to pay restitution in the amount of $4,459.52. The charges stem from an armed robbery that took place at a Dollar General in Lithia Springs on September 10, 2007. …

The Douglasville Police Department and Douglas County Sheriff's Department are looking for a man that robbed the Bank of the Ozarks, off of Chapel Hill Road, today at about 3:15 p.m. A man wearing a mask that looked like an old man said he had a gun and robbed the bank, Douglasville Police Deputy Chief Gary Sparks said. He never, however, displayed a weapon. "We were led to believe he fled on foot," Sparks said. Police K-9 Units are working to track the person and the police are in the process of checking the bank's surveillance equipment, Sparks said. A robbery at a Douglasville business last week could be tied to a similar crime that remains unsolved more than seven months later. The Douglas County Sheriff's and Douglasville Police Departments last week announced they were seeking two men after an armed robbery at the JP Jones Petro gas station on Bankhead Highway. Authorities report that one of the two suspects fired a round as they entered the store and robbed the clerk of the cash. The Douglas County Sheriff's Department is on the lookout for an early model 1990s maroon Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, or similar vehicle, after an attempted robbery was committed Friday, at the Texaco at Highway 92 and Post Rd. The man attempting to rob the store clerk is described as black, between 5 foot 7 inches and 5 foot 10 inches tall, with a slim build. The man pointed a gun at the store clerk and attempted to rob him at gun point. According to the sheriff's department website, he was wearing a dark hoodie and was last seen going south, toward Atlanta, on Highway 92. Those with information about this robbery can call J.
