Allene Elkins, 86, Dies
Funeral services were held Oct. 31, from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the River View Memorial Park, Smyrna with Rev. Marty McClain and Rev. Mike Traylor officiating.
Allene Elkins, 86 of Douglasville, passed away, Monday, Oct. 29. She was born March 6, 1926 in Atlanta, to the late Paul Honea and Sara Ellenburg Honea. She worked during her career as a line worker for the Borden’s Foods Company and attended the Sumitt Church of Douglasville. In addition to her parents, Paul and Sara Ellenburg Honea, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Elkin, her daughter, Sherry Elkins Morgan, several sisters and brothers. Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law: Wanda and Joe Reagan of Douglasville; sister: Esther Durmire of Powder Springs, grandchildren: Jeffrey Reagan, Ty Reagan, Kelley Darnell and Missy Nicholson, nine great grandchildren.
