We had approximately 400 athletes participating in our third year at New Manchester High School. Douglas County Special Olympics was started in the mid 70's and continues to grow each year. We are already looking forward to and have begun planning for 2014. We hope to see everyone there next year. Please continue to support Special Olympic events through the Douglasville Parks and Rec Department throughout the year!

The internet is good for researching, but there is so much out there that you would never want your children to see and there really isn't a perfect way to prevent them from seeing everything. It irritates me to no end when I see kids in stores with their eyes and fingers glued to their cell phones, paying no attention to what is going on around them. Adults are just as bad. A lady walked into me yesterday because she was texting and not paying attention.

I watch who my son is talking to on Facebook using an app called Qustodio that allows me to view the profile pictures of accounts that he engages with. Such monitoring is for their own good. Qustodio is a nice app. Just Google for it.
