Sweetwater Creek State Park offers nature-goers picnicking, boating, fishing and 9 miles of hiking trails. Situated on 2,549 acres including 215 acres of lake, the park has a visitor center, gift shop, 1 conference room, 8 sheltered picnic areas, 1 group shelter, two fishing docks, a seasonal bait shop and playground. One of the more popular features of the park is the ruins of New Manchester Manufacturing Company, a textile mill that burned down during the Civil War.
