The school's Bucket Fillers Program is a character education program that encourages the children to seek out and perform good deeds for others because it makes everyone feel good. The current principal is Tommy Shadinger and has been for the past four years. Shadinger has taught at both Chestnut Log Middle School and Arbor Station Elementary School. His wife, Linda, teaches at Chapel Hill Middle School. The school mascot is a dolphin.
