The Douglas County Fire Department was formed in 1975. Today, it has nine stations throughout the county, nine engine companies, two ladder companies, one heavy rescue squad, six advanced life support units and over 150 employees, including paramedics, cardiac technicians, and emergency medical technicians. The county asks that you call 911 in the event of an emergency instead of attempting to contact an individual fire station.
