on 1/3/13 my fmaily & I went to DCAS and gave Shadow, a Siberian Husky, as forever home. The staff was awesome and worked with us on everything as we live in Cobb county. I woudl gladly recommend DCAS to any friends. The staff is courteous and friendly. They facility is immaculately cleaned. And the animals are definitely loved.

late last year, I adopted Phillip. He was named Rody at the shelter. He was very healthy and had been there 3 months....he was loved and you could tell they loved him.

Phillip is the most amazing cat. Thank you DC Animal Shelter and volunteers for taking such great care of the animals. Not an easy job.

Today. 3/24/2012 I visited the Douglas County Animal Shelter and got such a pleasant surprise. Firstly, I saw a gentleman mopping the floors with bleach and it smelled so fresh in the large kennel area. Kennels were being cleaned of feces on a regular basis. There were several volunteers in the small dog and puppy area constantly cleaning the cages and playing with the puppies. Again it was very clean and smelled fresh.

I adopted a poodle as a companion for my other dog that I adopted from the animal shelter about two years ago.

All I can say is kudos to Mike and his staff of employees and volunteers. Your hard work certainly made a positive impression on me! Remember, if you are looking for a pet, make the animal shelter your first stop or just go to check out how it's changed.
