Sweetwater Creek State Park Hosts 'Art in the Park,' 'Night Sky Watch' Tonight

"Art in the Park" will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. and "Night Sky Watch" will be held from 7 to 9 p.m.

Get your biggest, heaviest coat on and head over to the Sweetwater Creek State Park tonight and bring your canvas and paint, clay, camera, or oil pastels for exclusive access to the interior of the five-story New Manchester Mill ruins - inculdes a moderate one-mile hike to the mill and back - meet at the Visitors Center - Fridays, Jan. 3 and 17 - pre-registration required; call 770-732-5871 or visit http://www.gastateparks.org.

There is a $10 fee plus $5 parking for Art in the Park.

And then later tonight, from 7 to 9 p.m., will be the Night Sky Watch. There is a $6 fee, plus $5 parking. There is a moderate two-mile hike at night to search the sky for planets, stars, constellations and shooting stars - binoculars, sturdy shoes, and flashlight required - meet at Visitors Center - Fridays, Jan. 3 and 31.
