Braves to Host Baseball Clinic for Miracle League Teams on Saturday

Children with special needs will learn baseball skills from Major League Baseball players and coaches.

The Atlanta Braves and the Baseball Fantasy Camp for Kids will host a baseball clinic for local youth from Miracle League teams this Saturday, Aug. 17 at Hunter Memorial Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The clinic will be led by Atlanta Braves players and will focus on providing a day full of baseball activities for the Miracle League children to participate in. The Miracle League is a baseball league for youth players who are physically and mentally challenged and provides a safe and spirited opportunity to hit, run and catch on a baseball field – just like any other kids.

Representing Peachtree City, Dalton, Lovejoy, Macon, Augusta, Douglasville and Atlanta Miracle Leagues, 57 children will receive instruction from Braves infielder Paul Janish, pitchers Anthony Varvaro and Alex Wood, and Braves coach Phil Falco on hitting, fielding, catching, throwing and the importance of physical fitness. Each Miracle League player will receive a Braves jersey, Braves cap and two tickets to the Braves vs. Nationals game that evening.
