Blake Gammill Races Saturday at Boundary Waters Park

The event honors Officer Blake Gammill, a Douglas County Sheriff's deputy who was killed in the line of duty on Feb. 24, 2005.

The 10th annual Blake Gammill road race is this Saturday at Boundary Waters Park in Douglasville.

The event includes 10.5K, 5K and 1-mile races. The 5K run/walk begins at 7:30 a.m., 10.5K begins at 8:15 a.m. and 1-mile run/walk begins at 8:20 a.m. 

The event honors Officer Blake Gammill, a Douglas County Sheriff's deputy who was killed in the line of duty on Feb. 24, 2005. All proceeds benefit the sheriff’s office SERT Team.

Race-day fees are $25 and $20. Races will proceed rain or shine. No refunds available. Race-day registrants are not guaranteed a t-shirt.

5K overall male & female, masters male & female, and top 3 male & female in 15 age groups from 10 & under through 75+. Ribbons will be awarded to all 1-mile finishers.

All run events will be on a combination of roads, grass and trails.

For the safety of everyone, no pets, headphones or strollers are permitted on the course.
