Volunteer at Animal Shelter, Info Meeting set for Tuesday

Volunteers are beng requested for the Douglas County Animal Shelter, with an informational meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 8.

A volunteer recruitment meeting will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Douglas County Animal Shelter, 1755 County Services Rd. off Cedar Mountain Rd. in Douglasville.

Volunteers are needed to perform a variety of services, including pet adoption counselors, shelter greeters, kennel enrichment, socialization and dog walking, community adoption event assistance, animal transport, bathing and grooming, basic training to dogs, general or spot cleaning kennels or sharing other skills.

During the meeting, volunteer applications will be available and questions will be answered regarding becoming a shelter volunteer. Animal shelter volunteers must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check.
