Master Gardeners Landscape Shelter

Members of the Douglas County Master Gardeners volunteered to landscape the front of the animal shelter.

Genie Gordon and Linda Nunez, of the Douglas County Master Gardeners, donated plants and their time to landscape the Douglas County Animal Shelter's front entrance.

They are pictured with Douglas County Animal Services Resource Officer Liz Marino and canine friend Maggie Hembree, who belongs to Bill and Beth Hembree.

Maggie was adopted from the shelter by the Hembrees eight years ago. Nunez, president of the county's master gardener program, along with Gordon shared plant donations the group received from the recent Southern Nursery Conference to help beautify the shelter.  A work crew from the Douglas County Sheriff's Department assisted in the project by digging the holes and planting the nine shrubs.
