Home Depot Donates to Puppy Room

The Douglasville Home Depot has generously donated $1,000 worth of materials to the Douglas County Animal Shelter to help construct its new puppy room.

The Douglasville has generously donated $1,000 worth of materials to the to help construct its new puppy room.  The materials were picked up on Thursday, Jan. 12, by Douglas County employees, as well as other materials the County purchased to build the new facility.

The new puppy room is being constructed inside a donated 12 feet by 24 feet building located adjacent to the current Shelter building, and will be able to house up to 40 puppies when completed in early Spring.

The Home Depot donation was arranged and supervised by Store Manager Jermaine Luke and Pro Department Supervisor Jack Powers. The Home Depot employees stated, We are very pleased to be able to assist in this much-needed project at the Animal Shelter. Many Home Depot employees are pet owners and lovers, so this donation definitely comes from the heart.”

“Blackie”, an eight-week-old Labrador (mix) puppy available for adoption from the Douglas County Animal Shelter, attended the materials pick-up to give a personal thank you to the Home Depot employees.

Douglas County Commission Chairman Tom Worthan stated, “Home Depot has again showed its heart towards the Douglas County community, and we greatly appreciate this generous donation that will be put to such good use.”
