Hundreds Honor Hero's Return Home

Lance Corporal Scott Harper's memory was honored this afternoon as the motorcade carrying his body slowly made its way through downtown Douglasville.

Lance Corporal Scott Harper's memory was honored this afternoon as the motorcade carrying his body slowly made its way through downtown Douglasville. Hundreds lined the streets but barely a sound was heard during the moments the motorcade passed by, as those who came to pay tribute hung their heads and placed their hand over their hearts.

Harper was accompanied by the Patriot Guard, the , the , the American Legion Riders, friends and organizations associated with the family. 

Harper’s family will receive friends at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home today from 5 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Ephesus Baptist Church, 8445 Ephesus Church Road in Villa Rica. Interment will follow at the Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery will full military honors.

Thanks Keith. That is perfect. You're right. I didn't know that large of crowd could be that quite that fast. It was very touching to be out there.

It was an honor seeing in a soldier that fought for our freedom!!! My brother in a soldier so this rings very close for me! I have a heavy heart and prayers are sent to his mother and family.
