200 Animals Need Homes at Shelter

Nearly 200 animals at the Douglas County Animal Shelter need loving homes.

Bill (pictured) is enjoying his Kuranda bed that was donated by a generous Douglas County resident, but he and many other cats and dogs are ready for permanent, loving homes. At the present time, there are 121 cats, 77 dogs, one ferret and one goat at the Douglas County Animal Shelter just waiting for the right person to take them home.

Numerous breeds and every age of dog and cat are available - from puppies and kittens to adults - and all have unique personalities.  The Douglas County Animal Shelter is located at 1755 County Services Road off Cedar Mountain Road about 4 ½ miles northwest of Douglasville.  The Shelter is open to the Public Tuesday - Sunday afternoons.  Available pets are posted on www.petfinder.com.
