Weekend Pigskin Roundup: Abernathy Provides 5 Scores for Alexander

Each week we'll take a look at what happened on the gridiron over the weekend in Douglasville Patch.

Alexander 35, Lithia Springs 21 – The started Region 5S-AAAA play with a 14-point win Friday led by quarterback Dempsey Abernathy’s five touchdown performance. Abernathy threw for three and rushed for two more scores, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The Cougars are now 2-2 on the season.

Chapel Hill 21, Douglas County 20 – The Panthers scored 14 unanswered, second-half points Friday to come from behind to beat . Chapel Hill exited the halftime locker room down, 20-7, and kept the Tigers from any points during the second half. Douglas County is now 0-4 and 2-2.
