Weekend Pigskin Roundup: Abernathy Leads Cougars to Win

Alexander 19, Douglas County 7 – quarterback Dempsey Abernathy rushed for 132 yards and scored Friday as Alexander roughed up the visiting , according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The Tigers, which had been improving over the last three weeks in scoring, only reached the end zone once against Alexander and lost its sixth-straight game of the season.
Alexander has now won three of its last four games and is only a half-game behind Chapel Hill in the Region 5S-AAAA standings.
