Football Preview: Busy Football Night

Alexander (2-2, 1-0) at South Paulding (2-2, 1-0) – After starting the season with a brutal loss, has played good football and scored 35 points in each of its three games, winning two of them. The key for the Cougars is defense. When Alexander holds teams to 21 points or fewer, they win. South Paulding blanked Villa Rica last week in Region 5S-AAAA play and has increased its scoring output in each week its played. One of these teams will move to 2-0 in region play tonight.

Chapel Hill (2-2, 1-0) at Paulding County (1-2, 0-0) – The Patriots will host tonight and haven’t done much with the football over their last two games, scoring just nine and six points, respectively. After a week off to regroup, Paulding County will look to get back to Week 1 standards when it scored 41 points. The Panthers are on a two-game winning streak after edging Douglas County last Friday to begin Region 5S-AAAA play.

Villa Rica (1-3, 0-1) at Douglas County (0-4, 0-1) – In four games this season Villa Rica has scored just 27 points combined. is looking for its first win and could be in a good spot tonight if it can continue scoring like it did last week when the Tigers put up 20 points against Chapel Hill.
