Friday Football Preview: All 3 Schools on the Road

Douglas County, Alexander and Chapel Hill all play away tonight.

Alexander (4-5, 3-3) at Pope (8-1, 5-1) – Region 5-AAAA is split into two subregions of seven teams. But only four of the 14 teams will qualify for the playoffs. That’s why this week the top four teams from each subregion will compete in play-in games. The South Subregion No. 4 seed, , will travel to , the winner of the North subregion. The Cougars enter tonight’s action losers of two in a row and have given up close to 40 points per game in those two losses. Pope’s won four-straight and lost just once all year.

Chapel Hill (6-3, 5-1) at Sprayberry (4-5, 3-3) – is the No. 4 seed in the North subregion of Region 5-AAAA. The Yellow Jackets will host the top-seeded South subregion . The Yellow Jackets lost to Kell last week and are the only team from their subregion that has given up more points this season than they have scored. The Panthers have won three games in a row and took the South subregion on tiebreakers.

Douglas County (2-7, 2-4) at North Paulding (3-6, 1-5) – No team has given up more points this season in Region 5-AAAA play than North Paulding, who gives up 38 points per game, on average. The Wolfpack will need to stop their defensive woes to beat tonight who beat Paulding County last week, 22-0.
