Baseball State Tourney Kicks Off Friday

Here's what's happening in high school athletics in Douglasville Patch on May 6.

After one week of no high school baseball, teams will return to the diamond today as the state tournament kicks off.

The only Douglasville team still in action is Alexander, who earned the No. 3 seed out of Region 5-AAAA. The Cougars will make the hour and a half trip to Creekview for today's first round.

Every round in the state tournament is a best-of-3 series. Alexander will play a double-header today against Creekview, if the two teams split, a third game would be played on Saturday at Creekview.
