Steak ‘N Shake Now Open in Douglasville

Owners Ronny Stewart and Jeff Robida celebrated the grand opening of Steak N Shake with a chamber ribbon cutting on Dec. 12. Steak n Shake is located at 9557 Highway 5, in Douglasville.

Steak ‘n Shake was founded in February, 1934 in Normal, Illinois. Gus Belt, Steak ‘n Shake’s founder, pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milk shakes. For over 79 years, the company’s name has been symbolic 
of its heritage. The word “steak” stood for steakburger. The term “shake” stood for hand-dipped milk shake.

The location of Steak ‘n Shake in Douglasville has been the buzz for many months and business is expected to boom through the holiday season. Stewart mentioned at the ribbon cutting they are proud to announce that 
they have hired 160 employees to run the 24 hour restaurant.

Douglas County Chamber President and CEO,Kali Boatright, congratulated Ronny, Jeff, their staff, and corporate attendees on behalf of the chamber. “The Douglas County Chamber would like to officially welcome you to Douglasville as a new and thank you for locating your business in Douglasville,” commented Boatright. “We look forward to watching

Commission Chairman Tom Worthan and Mayor Harvey Persons also extended their congratulations and applauded the restaurant for bringing jobs to the community. Several Commissioners and Councilmen were 
present for the occasion to offer their support for the new business.
