The Douglas County School System will have a regular school day on Wednesday, Jan. 8. Students and staff should plan to arrive at the normal scheduled starting time.
“We will be back to school on our usual schedule tomorrow,” said Superintendent Dr. Gordon Pritz. “The heat and water lines in all of our buildings have been checked and are working well. All buses have been started today and are ready to pick up students tomorrow on their usual schedule.”
Parents are urged to dress their children warmly using multiple layers of clothing. A suitable coat, hat and gloves should also be worn by all students since it will still be quite cold by local standards. Watch for buses to arrive at their usual time but do not leave children alone outside to wait. Children lose body heat faster than adults.
