Students Get Real Life Lessons on Shadow Day

More than 25 Douglas County businesses invited students into their places of work to give them an interactive perspective on how life will be in a career field that interests them.

"The purpose is to give students real life work experience through by taking one-day to shadow a local business or person in a field that interests them," Karen Stroud said, director of communications for the Douglas County School System.

In its 17th year, Shadow Day is part of the Partners in Education program and five years ago also became part of the County's BRIDGES program.
