Parents Occupy DCHS
Nov. 15 was National PTA Parent Involvement Day and parents were invited to occupy Douglas County High School all day long.
Parents were peering over shoulders and peeking into classrooms all over Douglas County High School Thursday. Nov. 15 was National PTA Parent Involvement Day and parents were invited to occupy DCHS all day long. November is also Parent Engagement Month.
"Dr. (Tim) Scott and the PTSA are prompting getting parents more engaged," Nicole Warren said, DCHS PTSA President.
Phyllis Combs couldn't resist the invitation to get involved in her daughter Ariel's education day.

"She's so important to me," she said. "My investment with her is crucial to who she will become. I want her to know I'm there through thick and thin. We are devoutly connected."
In recognition of Parent Engagement Month, DCHS Staff & PTSA planned events during the month of November to promote parent involvement in education. On Nov. 13, a Principal Coffee was held in the Career Center and all DCHS Parents were invited to come have Coffee with the Principal to get informed about “What is College & Career Readiness” and ask questions in an informal and casual atmosphere.
