Mercer to Offer BS in Informatics at Douglas Center

The Bachelor of Science in Informatics program offers classes in a traditional classroom setting one night per week during an eight-week session.

Mercer University’s College of Continuing and Professional Studies will offer its Bachelor of Science in Informatics program at the Douglas County Regional Academic Center, beginning in January 2014.

Informatics is a broad academic field, which combines solid grounding in computer programming, mathematics and statistics with study of the ethical and social science aspects of complex information systems. Students in this program develop the skills to design, implement and evaluate the next generation of information technology tools for different disciplines.

“This expansion of our very fine, contemporary, 21st century information technology and systems degree demonstrates Mercer’s continuing commitment to Douglas and its surrounding counties,” said Priscilla Danheiser, dean of the College of Continuing and Professional Studies.
