Freshman Summer Camp Held Today

Rising nineth graders will arrive at Douglas County High School for the annual BRIDGES Freshman Summer Camp. The purpose of this camp is to prepare each student for their transition from middle school to high school.

Rising nineth graders will arrive at for the annual BRIDGES Freshman Summer Camp. The purpose of this camp is to prepare each student for their transition from middle school to high school. Students will attend various sessions that will give them a head start to their success at DCHS.

Students will enjoy Field Day activities where they learn to work as a team, a necessary skill for success in high school. Students will also preview the curriculum for 9th Grade Language Arts, American Government, Biology, and Math 1. Goal Setting and Time Management workshops will also be held.  To culminate the end of camp, a What Not to Wear Fashion Show will be held to familiarize students with our dress code!!! 

A CTAE Pathways session will give everyone the opportunity to focus on their career path and what can be done in high school to get closer to being working adults. Students will learn viable information that will allow them to be successful at DCHS. A good time will be had by all. Every high school will have a Freshman Transition Camp. Activities at each will vary. Please come out and enjoy the festivities with us!!!!
