Baseball Regular Season Ends Friday

Here's what's happening in high school athletics in Douglasville Patch on April 29.

The high school baseball season has been going on for over 10 weeks now, but for most teams it ends Friday.

will be hosting the game of the day in the Douglasville Patch. The Cougars will be shooting to improve their seeding for next week's state tournament.  

If Alexander – currently tied for second in Region 5-AAAA with an 9-3 record – can get past Lithia Springs Friday at Lithia Springs, then they could earn a home field advantage for next week's playoffs.

An Alexander win combined with losses by Pope and Kell would give the Cougars the No. 1 seed out of the region. However, a loss could drop the Cougars to a No. 4 seed.

Alexander at Lithia Springs 5:55 p.m.

East Paulding at 5:55 p.m.

North Paulding at 5:55 p.m.

Heritage at 4 p.m.

Girls Track

Alexander, Douglas County and Chapel Hill will compete in the girls Region 5-AAAA track meet at North Paulding High School, 9 a.m.
