Update 5 p.m.:
This program has been changed to Thursday night.
Rep. Roger Bruce, D-District 64, representing parts of Atlanta, Douglas and Fulton Counties, will appear on Diane Sawyer's World News and Nightline tonight to discuss 'Mug Shot' legislation he plans to introduce to the State House.
The proposed bill would not allow websites and publishers to charge a fee for removing a person's mug shot from public display. It would also allow individuals who suffer damage or injury as a result of the mug shots' publication, to recover punitive damages and attorney's fees.
Sophia Andrade, now an assistant of Bruce's, said she contacted Bruce when several websites starting running her mug shot after an arrest for a crime she was ultimately never convicted for and her life became a "nightmare."
Andrade shares some of her story during an interview with Douglasville Patch, attached to this story.
