Police K-9 Profile: Adam and Drakar
Douglasville Patch will be profiling Douglasville Police and Douglas County Sheriff's Department K-9 teams in an effort to raise awareness about the current Pennies for Police Dogs campaign to fight canine cancer.
The Team: Officer Adam Haney and his K-9 partner Drakar have been together since 2010.
The K-9: Drakar is a Belgian Malinois breed that is two and a half years old. He has been trained for dual purposes: narcotics and patrol.
The Officer: Adam Haney has been with the Douglasville Police Department for five years and Drakar is his first police dog partner.

In addition to the 24 local elementary and middle schools participating, buckets will also be available at the and at the .
This year's competition started on Feb. 27 and will run through March 9. This is the third year that area schools will compete to see who can raise the most money to help fight canine cancer. More than $10,500 was raised in the first two years and this will be the first year that includes area middle schools.
