My name is Jay Smith and I am running to represent Ward 1 on the Douglasville City Council. I was born and raised in Douglas County and truly believe that this is one of the best places in America to live and raise a family.

I am a Senior Police Officer for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority. Prior to this, I worked for the Douglasville Police Department as a Detective assigned to the Major Case Unit.

I am running for Douglasville City Council, because I believe that I can make a difference in my hometown. As a native of Douglasville, I have seen the good and the bad that have taken place in our community. I believe my knowledge of the city and voice of the people we can continue to make this town the best place to live, work and play. Keeping the “Public” in public service is my goal.

Top priorities on my agenda:
