Douglas Health Futures Foundation Asking $199K for Vacant Building

The proceeds of the sale with fund foundation's programs.

The Douglas Health Futures Foundation is selling its vacant medical/office facility at 6457 East Strickland Street in Douglasville and has designated the proceeds from the sale of the building for funding of its programs.

The Douglas Health Futures Foundation supports four children’s medical services: Douglas SafeKids, Children First, Babies Can’t Wait, and Children’s Medical Services.

The East Strickland Street building was most recently used by the Foundation for a Teen Information/Medical Center. The teen services were transferred to the Douglas County Health Department due to federal and state funding cutbacks, and the building became vacant and was declared surplus property by the Foundation.

The building is approximately 1,500 square feet on 0.34 acres and is ready to move in. It contains three exam rooms, offices, waiting rooms, rest rooms and storage. It has on-site parking.

The price is $199,000, and it has good visibility from Bankhead Highway and Fairburn Road as well as frontage on East Strickland Street. The listing is with Dan Buyers of McWhirter Realty Partners of Smyrna at 770-955-2000.

The Douglas Health Futures Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit dedicated to the children of Douglas County and its Board of Directors is composed of everyday Douglas County citizens who care about our future. The Board was reinvigorated in 2013 to ensure that greatly needed children’s health program receive the attention and funding needed to help the children of Douglas County. It concentrates on four programs that economically and programmatically can have a significant impact on the lives of Douglas County children.

The 11-member Board is chaired by Douglas County School Superintendent Dr. Gordon Pritz and Vice Chair Dr. Suvess Ricks.
