City Unveils 9/11 Logo

Douglasville's memorial ceremony will be held Sunday at Freedom Island.

The is pleased to introduce a new logo designed to commemorate Sept. 11 and to help promote the city's 9/11 memorial ceremony held Sunday at Freedom Island in Douglasville.

The new logo embodies the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, wrapped by a patriotic ribbon in remembrance of the terrorist attacks that took place ten years ago on Sept. 11, 2001.

“We will never forget 9/11. The city's September 11 logo symbolizes not only the casualties and damages endured by our country on that tragic day, but also reflects America's admirable rescue and recovery efforts, and our ability to stand strong and persevere,” said Douglasville Mayor Mickey Thompson.

The commemorative logo will appear on all promotional material for the city's memorial ceremony and will be imprinted on helium-filled balloons that will be released in remembrance of 9/11 at the event.
