Appraisal Field Inspections Underway

The visit will be conducted by a Douglas County staff appraiser, who will have proper identification including a county badge, a county logo shirt and a county car.

The Douglas County Appraisal Department started conducting field inspections on Feb. 11 and will continue through April 1. In accordance with Georgia Law (O.C.G.A. 48-5-264), this is notification to property owners, business owners, and occupants that an inspection may be conducted in your
area.

The purpose of the visit is to update property record cards in order to accurately determine fair market value. The visit will be conducted by a Douglas County staff appraiser, who will have proper identification including a county badge, a county logo shirt and a county car.

If the property owner is not at the property at the time of the inspection, a door hanger will be left for further clarification. If the appraiser is denied access to the property, an estimated value will be accessed.
