The mother that left the children was identified as Murphy, the report continues. After the children had been taken to the police department, Murphy contacted Det. Lynn Seagraves. Murphy refused to come to the police department because she was afraid of being arrested. Even after being advised that the children would be placed in custody of the state if she did not, Murphy still refused to meet with Det. Seagraves.

The children told officers that they had not eaten since breakfast and were all very hungry. Sgt. Brian Finley provided food for the children at 6:30 p.m. while waiting for DFACS to take action.

DFACS took custody of the children and Det. Seagraves obtained arrest warrants for four counts of reckless conduct and four counts of cruelty to children first degree.

Anyone knowing the location of Murphy is asked to contact the Villa Rica Police Department or the Douglas County Sheriff's Department.
