Ann Bartow is shaken but alright this morning after her house at 7503 Hillside Drive was destroyed by fire last night at approximately 8:15 p.m.
American Idol was almost over she said when her neighbors, Michael and Jose Bruce, came over and practically shoved her out the door.
"I was running around in my nightgown and trying to find something to put on and pictures and they were trying to push me out the door," she said. "The police asked me what happened and I told them I just don't know."
She said Michael saved her three dogs.
"I saw a huge, white flash and got up to see what it was. I didn't realize until this morning it was as serious as it is. I couldn't look at it (the house) until about an hour ago," she said.
The built-on addition to the house was burned and destroyed and there was damage inside the house. There were no injuries to either residents or firefighters, Wes Tallon, director of communicaitons, said in an email.
Bartow said a neighbor told her there was lighting was flashing all around their nieghborhood. She is currently staying with a neighbor and waiting for the Red Cross.
"It was very wonderful to have friends here," she said. "People are kind in a crisis anyway."
