U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect in Metro Atlanta Robberies

He may be linked to a robbery in Douglas.

U.S. Marshals have arrested the man wanted in connection with a string of robberies across metro Atlanta, including one in Douglas.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution identified the man as Lewis Bernard Flagg.

Investigators in Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Henry and Rockdale counties have said they believed the man may be linked to robberies in their jurisdictions, according to WSB-TV. That was revealed during a recent meeting of law enforcement officials from those communities.

Investigators from those jurisdictions began to suspect a link between the incidents after Cobb police released surveillance images from a June 18 armed robbery at a Paces Ferry Road QuikTrip.

In that case, a man wearing a dark shirt, a skull cap and light-colored pants purchased a small item from the QuikTrip clerk just before 1 a.m., said Sgt. Dana Pierce with the Cobb County Police Department.

"As the female clerk was making change, the male offender produced a handgun and demanded that he be given money from the cash registers," he said.

After getting the money, the man left the gas station in an unknown direction.

Forty-five minutes before that, authorities said the same man robbed a Chamblee BP gas station at 5018 Peachtree Blvd. The suspect is also accused of robbing a Rockdale County BP gas station at 2992 Hwy. 155 about 10:25 p.m. June 16.

According to the AJC, Flagg is charged with the June 21 robbery of a Sandy Springs Shell gas station in the 7800 block of Holcomb Bridge Road.
