Suspect Charged with Burglary
Kurtis Allen Merritt, 26 from Douglasville, has been arrested for burglary.
On Dec. 28, 2012, a theft was reported at the McDonald’s on Hwy 61 in Villa
Rica. It was discovered that a male suspect had forced open the drive thru window and removed money from the cash register while the employee was away from the window.
On March 7, Detective Bertera received a tip in reference to the incident. During his investigation he was able to identify the suspect as Kurtis Allen Merritt, 26 years old, from Douglasville. Detective Bertera obtained an arrest warrant for Merritt and was able to locate him in a motel near Six Flags.
Merritt was taken into custody and charged with burglary. It was discovered that Merritt had been staying in Michigan and had just returned to Georgia. He is currently being held at the Carroll Co Jail.
